Author of How to Be a Hepburn in a Hilton World, Jordan Christy has signed on as an official speaker for the Confidence Coalition, a movement to raise awareness of the importance of confidence in girls and women. Organized by Kappa Delta Sorority, the Confidence Coalition creates an alliance of organizations, companies and individuals committed to promoting confidence and self-esteem. To date, nearly 40 girls’ and women’s organizations have joined the alliance.
“The Confidence Coalition promotes integral qualities such as poise, intelligence and self-respect,” said Christy, who has been featured everywhere from the Today Show to the London Times. “Young women need confidence and self-esteem now more than ever before; I'm thrilled to be part of an organization that exists to further this cause."
Christy’s message encourages young women to live with style, class and grace in a world that all too often focuses on outrageous, bad girl behavior. She offers an important perspective¬that confidence is gained through respect for ourselves and others, and a commitment to values and morals.
In her first appearance as official speaker for the Confidence Coalition, Christy will lead a session at the Kappa Delta Sorority National Leadership Conference June 26. She is available to speak about women’s confidence at campus events, women’s group gatherings and national conferences. For more information, visit www.jordanchristy.com.
“We are pleased to welcome Jordan as a partner in the Confidence Coalition,” said Melanie Schild, executive director for Kappa Delta Sorority. “She is a classy and intelligent role model for girls and young women today.”
The Confidence Coalition is a national movement that will enable women and girls to stand up to peer pressure and media stereotypes, say no to risky behavior and abusive relationships, and put an end to relational aggression, such as bullying – on the playground and in the office. For more information on the Confidence Coalition, to sign a confidence pledge, or to view the confidence coalition video, visit www.confidencecoalition.org.
